Non-custom paid vehicles serious issue

LAHORE: The issue of non-custom paid vehicles is serious and the government is taking steps to resolve it, a top official told Customs Today.

According to the official, the non-custom paid vehicles are plying on roads throughout the country involving huge amount of tax evasion.

He said that these vehicles come through the porous Pak-Afghan boarder where patrolling was not enough and added that the government is taking steps to address the issue. It was said that 5,1200 vehicles were registered in one month as per the amnesty scheme of the government in 2013.

He said custom authorities get help from law enforcement agencies to control smuggling of such vehicles. He added that government taking measures to making law in this regard.
