WASHINGTON: Specialty metals manufacturing distributor Aero-Vac Alloys & Forge will relocate its business to the Port of Kalama from Orange County, Calif., to accommodate its expansion, the port said Friday. The company is moving both its corporate headquarters and production facility to a 23,000-square-foot facility leased from the port, effective May. 1, the port said in a news release. It expects to hire 16 to 20 workers for its manufacturing operations.
Aero-Vac is a manufacturing distributor of specialty metals like bar, forgings, plate, sheet and tube to original equipment and steel manufacturers in aerospace and commercial industries. Company President Tim LuMaye said he was drawn to Kalama because of its prime location for production and distribution, the quality of the leased building, business and tax incentives, and a skilled workforce. Also, he said, “I fell in love with Kalama for its small-town appeal and the natural beauty — the river and mountain views are exceptional.”
