RCB seals 35 shops of tax defaulters

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board’s (RCB) enforcement team in a crackdown against property tax defaulters has sealed 35 shops in different areas.

The RCB spokesman talking to the state-owned news agency said that RCB recovery team sealed shops in different areas for non-payment of property tax amounting to Rs 2.7 million.

The sealed shops would be de-sealed when the total tax arrears would be cleared, he added. He further said, RCB under its special campaign have disconnected 40 water connections from its areas due to non-payment of dues. He said, on the special directive of Cantonment Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. Saima Shah, campaign to recover water charges has been accelerated.

The residents have been warned that stern action would be taken against tax defaulters. Special teams have also been formed to check illegal connections, he added.
