Customs Preventive contesting Rs251m seized gold, currency, mobile cases

LAHORE: At least 13 cases filed by the Customs Preventive are pending before customs court, adjudication and customs appellate tribunal. The cases involve Rs 251 million, it is learnt.

As per details, three cases of currency worth Rs 33 million are pending before customs adjudication while Rs 203.21 million gold, jewelry and currency are pending in adjudication with judgment reserved.

Similarly, three cases of Rs 10.3 million of smart mobile phone confiscated by the customs preventive are also pending under the adjudication.

The accused persons in the cases include Zulfiqar, Qasir Iqbal, Shahbaz Ahmad, Irfan Tariq, Faker Mehmood, Rana Rafiq, Muhammad Aslam, Abdul Basit, Rai Muhammad Umer, Muhammad Rizwan, Abdul Waheed, Naeem Siddique, and Rehan Ahmad Zedi.
