Court extends remand of suspect in BOPP film smuggling case

LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has extended the judicial remand of the accused allegedly involved in smuggling of BOPP film from Afghanistan to Faisalabad.

According to the details, a person, who was identified as Mubarak Sheikh arrested by the Faisalabad Customs staff following the recovery of smuggled BOPP film from his warehouse during an action.

After recovery of the items, the officials asked the owner to show documents regarding the legal import but he remained failed to do the same; therefore the officials seized the items worth Rs 4.5 million, which were loaded on two trucks.
