Excise DG Akram decides to launch operation against property tax defaulters

LAHORE: The Excise and Taxation Department has decided to launch a crackdown at provincial level against defaulters of property tax.

Punjab Excise Director General Akram Ashraf Gondal and secretary decided in a meeting to launch a crackdown in all regions of the province. It may be mentioned here that a media campaign has also been launched to aware the people about importance of property tax and to motivate them to pay their dues.

After media campaign, special teams of excise will start a grand operation against defaulters in all all districts without any discrimination.

Meanwhile, the excise sealed hundreds of properties, including factories and shopping plazas in Lahore, Kasur, Rawalpindi, Multan and Gujranwala. The department has also issued numerous tax notices with five percent fine to defaulters in Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi.
