ASO impounds vehicles, items worth Rs 28.8m in April

LAHORE: The Anti Smuggling Organisation (ASO) has impounded non-duty paid vehicles and goods worth Rs 28.87 million during April, 2016.

As per details, the vehicles and items were seized on the directions of Customs Preventive Collector Zulfiqar Younis under the supervision Assistant Collector Dr.Muhammad Adnan Khan, while the ASO teams were headed by Superintendent Munawar Ahmad Khan.

The ASO surpassed the seizure amount of April, 2015, which stood at Rs 14.87 million, by Rs 14 million.

During July, 2015 to April, 2016, the ASO showing exceptional performance seized items worth Rs 306.63 million whereas items valuing at Rs. 267.77 millions were confiscated during same corresponding period of last year. The department witnessed an increase of Rs 38.86 million over the last fiscal year.
