DUBLIN: €11,000 worth of illegal cigarettes and tobacco have been seized in Dublin.
It followed a Revenue search of two homes in the Dublin 7 area at around 10pm last night.
13,000 cigarettes and 8.8 kilos of tobacco were recovered during the searches, which was part of an intelligence led operation targeting the illegal cigarette trade on Moore Street in Dublin city centre.
Revenue says investigations are ongoing and a file is being prepared for prosecution.
The seized cigarettes and tobacco are said to represent a potential loss to the Exchequer of more than €8,700.
