Peshawar Customs ADC Fazal reopens Shergarh office to curb smuggling

PESHAWAR: Model Customs Collectorate Additional Collector Fazal-e-Samad inaugurated the reopening of custom office in Shergarh aiming for tightening noose around the smugglers and non-duty paid vehicles in the area.

On this occasion, Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) Deputy Collector Mohammad Amin reopened its office after 12 years. The office was established in 1970 and remained functional till 2004. However, due to security reasons, this check post was closed for a long time but due to its important and connection with Hari Chand Road along with Malakand, this post was reopened to curb smuggling.

Additional Collector Fazal-e-Samad said that the decision to reopen this office was made to keep a vigilant eye on suspected vehicles being smuggled through Malakand division. He said that the incharge of this office will be a deputy superintendent, who will perform duty with two inspectors and additional staff of 155 members.

Later, the additional collector examined various section of the office and checked the record.
