FBR issues income tax notices to 74 excise officials in Punjab

LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued income tax notices to officials of the Punjab Excise and Taxation Department.

Sources told Customs Today that the Regional Tax Office –II, after receiving directions from Assistant Commissioner Inland Revenue Akbar Mayo, issued these notices to the excise staff. These officers had failed to submit their income tax returns during the last two years despite receiving many notices. Now on the directions of assistant commissioner Inland Revenue, notices had been issued to 74 officials of the excise Punjab.

These officials includes Khalid Javed, Furqan Iftikhar, Akram Shad, Bukhtyar Kirmani, Muhammad Aleem, Qurban Ali, Ghulam Muhammad inspector Waheed Anjum and excise and taxation officers Habib Alasm also served notices by the FBR.

All the officials are performing their duties in Lahore and are working on key posts of the department but they did not file their income tax returns since last two years.
