Excise serves notice on defaulters to recover Rs 8.2m property tax

KARACHI: The Excise and Taxation department has issued notices to the owners of as many as 46 buildings located in Lasbela in order to recover Rs 8.2 million.

An excise official Shabir Somroo informed Customs Today that the owners have not been paying taxes of their properties for six years. He added that these owners were earning millions of rupees in wake of rent on properties but not paying taxes to the government.

He further told that the department sent many notices but they remained fail to submit their taxes; therefore, final notices have been served on the defaulters directing them to clear outstanding dues till May 15.
