Customs intelligence confiscates Indian fabric, trailer worth Rs 11m

FAISALABAD: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation has seized 1,0190 kilogram of Indian fabrics and offender vehicle worth Rs 11 million involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 2.95 million.

As per details, Additional Director received information about the smuggling of cloth from Karachi to Faisalabad by using tampered bill of lading on which a team was formed to curb smuggling.

The team comprising Senior Intelligence Officer Zahid Saleem Mirza, Intelligence Officer Mansoor Nasir, sepoys Khalil Ahmad, Muhammad Sajjad and others intercepted a trailer No TLC-868 on Jhang Road, Faisalabad and recovered Indian origin cloth.

The Customs team seized the goods and vehicle, and sent the report to the Customs Adjudication for further proceedings.

The drive of truck named Muhammad Imran and owner of cloth Safdar Abbas Baloch have been made accused in the case.
