Customs Appraisement duty, tax collection up 25pc

LAHORE: The Customs Appraisement has registered a growth of 25 percent by collecting duty and taxes worth Rs 46,495 million from July to April 2015-16, official data indicates.

As per details, the collectorate collected Rs 15,778 million against Rs 3,235 million under the head of customs duty during the same period year.

The collectorate collected Rs 25,807.89 million of  sales tax from July to April 2015-16 against Rs 20,243.64 million during the same period last year.

Similarly, the collectoarte collected Rs 4,383 million as income tax against Rs 3,509.64 million during the same period last year while Rs 126.40 million were collected as federal excise duty, the data said.

Overall the collectorate gathered Rs 46,495 million registering a growth of Rs 25 percent during 10 months.
