Overseas ministry supports 10,985 people in KP thru schemes

ISLAMABAD: Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Department has benefitted 10,985 persons in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through different schemes during the last three years (2012-2015).

According to the official source, out of total 10,985, the number of beneficiaries through one window facilitation desk at Bacha Khan International Airport is 4,976 while 4,066 persons were provided treatment at free eye camps.

The number of beneficiaries of vocational training is 500 while financial assistance of Rs. 218.06 million was provided to the destitute families (1,247 persons) of overseas Pakistanis in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

An amount of Rs.109.23 million was paid to 196 overseas Pakistanis on account of compensation dues. Listing the initiatives taken during the last three years, the official source revealed that Overseas Pakistanis Foundation has established one window facilitation desk at Bacha Khan International Airport Peshawar with effect from 31-08-2015.

Free Eye Treatment camps were arranged for overseas Pakistanis and their dependents at Baffa Mansehra, Bakka Khel, Bannu and Khar Bajaur Agency.

Vocational training center was established at Hayatabad, Peshawar to impart training to the children of overseas Pakistanis in various trades such as Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Electrician, UPS Assembling, Motor Cycle, Mechanic etc.
