Dar invites Japanese investors to explore Pak auto market

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has invited the Japanese investors to explore auto market in Pakistan especially after new auto policy.

He said this during a meeting with newly-appointed Japanese Ambassador Takashi Kurai, who called on the finance minister. Dar welcomed the Japanese envoy and said he would be extended all possible cooperation in his endeavours to augment Pak-Japan economic cooperation.

The Japanese envoy discussed with the minister, the investment plans of the Japanese companies in the wake of auto policy announced by the government.

The minister said that Pakistan now offers the most lucrative investment opportunities and an enabling economic environment for foreign investors. The re-launching of Yamaha, Japan last year was a practical example and proof of the interest international companies including those from Japan, evince in having business activities in Pakistan. He said that level playing field is offered to all prospective international investors and Japanese companies could also avail the liberal investment regime. Japanese investors are welcome to Pakistan’s auto market, the minister said.

The minister on this occasion also referred to his meeting with the delegation of JICA in Frankfurt on the sidelines of the ADB annual meeting and appreciated JICA’s contribution for various projects in Pakistan.
