FBR decides to extend exemption on export tax on IT services

SIALKOT: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to extend exemption on IT software and its related services from export tax for further five years.

According to sources, the FBR is also reviewing to increase two percent withholding tax on the salaries of those government employees who are not filing their tax returns. Sources said that exemption of tax on IT related items were going to end on June 30, so the FBR decided to extend the exemption. While on the other hand FBR is also considering to take strict action against those government employees who are not filing their income tax returns regularly.
