DG Excise Ashraf Gondal suspends Sialkot inspector on corruption charges

SIALKOT: Director General Excise and Taxation Department Asharaf Akram Gondal has suspended Excise Sialkot Inspector Amjad Chattha due to his involvement in embezzlement of Rs 2.2 million.

According to sources, Excise Inspector Amjad Chattha collected Rs 2.2 million from the owners of non-duty paid and token tax default vehicles. Sources said that the said inspector failed to deposit the same in national kitty and personally used the amount.
