Customs Court extends judicial remand of currency smuggler

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has remanded a suspected currency smuggler into the custody of Pakistan Customs for another 14 days.

As per details, a suspect, Irfan Altaf, was arrested red handed with foreign currency worth Rs 37 million at Sialkot International Airport Limited (SIAL) when he was trying to go to Sharjah. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested him and later, handed him over to the Sialkot Customs.

In this case, three accomplices named Adnan Afzal, Imran Khan and Muhammad Irfan were released by Customs Court on bail, while the main accused, Irfan Altaf is still on judicial remand.
