PESHAWAR: The Model Customs Collectorate, by collecting Rs 16.709 billion during the first ten months (July-April) of the fiscal year 2015-16, surpassed the last year’s collection of Rs 14.696 billion by Rs 2.012 billion.
Under the head of custom duty, a total of Rs 6.005 billion were collected as compared to Rs 4.928 billion of the previous year. The positive difference was recorded at Rs 1.076 billion and 21.85 percent.
It collected Rs 3.973 billion in wake of sales tax on import against the Rs 4.308 billion collected during first ten months of year 2015. The collectrate observed decline by Rs 334.79 million and -7.77 percent under the head of sales tax on import.
The Peshawar Customs collected Rs 1.876 billion in wake of sales tax levied as federal excise duty (FED) up to April 2016 against Rs 2.291 billion of last financial year. The department faced decline in this section amounting to Rs 415.71 million and -18.14 percent.
In wake of sales tax value addition on commercial importers, the house collected Rs 558.62 million against Rs 569.35 million of last year. The difference noticed to the tune of minus Rs 10.73 million and -1.88 percent.
As federal excise duty on Imports, it collected Rs 201.47 million up to April, 2016 against the previous year collection of Rs 191.30 million witnessing an increase of Rs 10.2 million and 5.32 percent.
The Peshawar Customs collected Rs 4.093 billion during July-April of current fiscal year 2015-16 against Rs 2.406 billion collected during same corresponding period of last fiscal year 2014-15. The difference in rupees amounting to Rs 1.686 billion was noticed under this head, while the difference in form of percentage stood at 70.08 percent.
