ISLAMABAD: The sales of locally-manufactured vehicles have increased by 29 percent to 184,099 units during the first 10 months of this year against 142,814 units in the same period last year.

The improved law and order situation, low interest rates, Punjab government’s taxi scheme, and other economic factors were behind this growth.

However, sales fell six per cent to 5,483 in April 2016. The market leader, Suzuki, saw a 41 per cent YoY increase, with sales reaching 109,628 units in 2016 thanks to the Punjab taxi scheme. But, due to fewer working days in April, sales declined 18 per cent.
