ISLAMABAD: Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs Chairperson Nuzhat Sadiq Tuesday lauded the government for evolving consensus on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and said that it would not only impact Pakistan’s economy but also boost confidence of international investors.

The all-weather ties between two countries were touching new heights during tenure of Prime Minister Muhammed Nawaz Sharif as numerous development projects, especially in energy sector were being carried out with cooperation of China in Pakistan.

In an exclusive talk with APP in connection with 67th anniversary of Pak-China diplomatic relations, she said the development work was being implemented under “one belt, one road” vision for promoting regional contacts.

Unprecedented efforts had been made by government under the leadership of the Prime Minister for controlling energy crisis, she added. The Chairperson said work had also been started on power projects under CPEC and no effort was being spared for their early completion.

Nuzhat Sadiq said that Pakistan acknowledged that investment by major Chinese public and private sector enterprises was one of the largest influxes of foreign capital in Pakistan, adding that law and order situation in the country was improving which would give a boost to investment.
