KARACHI: Directorate Customs Intelligence and Investigation (Enforcement) is expected to transfer more than 20,000 kilogram of explosive material to the Pakistan Ordinance Factory (POF).

According to the source, Customs Intelligence and Investigation is negotiating with senior officials of the factory to accept 20,000 kilogram explosive material. The material was imported from China on January 7 and the Custom intelligence had recovered it from two containers during a raid at the Karachi Port Trust. The material was shipped for a consignee in Rawalpindi.

The explosive material in such a huge quantity was a challenge for the officials to keep it at the port. The intelligence agencies in China are tracking the shipper who exported 20,000 kilogram explosive to Pakistan, whereas the authorities in Pakistan are also chasing the consignee, the source informed.
