Faisalabad ASO confiscates goods worth Rs 3.92m

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) seized smuggled goods worth Rs 3.92 million during the first two weeks of May 2016.

According to weekly seizure reports, the seized items include vehicles, tyres and tubes, cigarettes, and others miscellaneous items. The Faisalabad ASO registered more than five seizure cases of anti-smuggling.

ASO Superintendent Saeed Akhtar Joyia said that the numbers of cases were declining due to strict monitoring and timely actions of the Pakistan Customs.

As per details, the ASO impounded nine non-duty paid vehicles worth Rs 3.6 million, which were being used for transportation of smuggled items.

Furthermore, the ASO confiscated tyres and tubes  worth Rs 162,500, cartons of cigarettes worth Rs 69,916, gutka worth Rs 69,400 and others miscellaneous goods worth Rs 21,000 during the said period.
