Owais Agha for warning collectorates on not responding to audit paras

KARACHI: Customs Internal Audit Director General Dr Owais Agha Jawwad has directed to send alerts to all field formations i.e. Appraisement-West, Appraisement-East and Port Qasim regarding the current status of audit paras, it is learnt here.

Sources informed Customs Today that the DG Jawwad, during a meeting held at his office, told the officials to update the status of the audit-paras sent by the department to all the three field formations three months ago.

The sources disclosed that the authorities informed the DG that the collectorates have not responded yet in connection with the audit paras sent to them.

The sources further briefed the DG that over 80 audit paras have been sent to the collectrates for further settlement. However; the collectorates did not replied against the same audit-paras so far.

It is pertinent to mention here that the authorities concerned of the Internal Audit have sent the audit-paras of the cleared consignments linked with the auto-parts, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and steel pallets.

The DG asked the authorities concerned to check the current status of the audit paras, so that a comprehensive report to be sent to the FBR Headquarters.
