ISLAMABAD: Federal Ministry for Water and Power has said that electricity shortfall has surged to 3,000 megawatt.
According to a statement, currently 15,000 megawatt electricity is being generated by all resources while 18,000 megawatt electricity is required to meet the nationwide requirements.
It further said that eight hours of loadshedding is being carried out in rural areas and six hours in the urban areas to meet the demand of electricity. Areas having power theft and non-payment of bills are facing longer hours of power outages.
