FBR planning to clear refund claims to facilitate exporters: Fahad Bashir

SIALKOT: Taking rebate on export-oriented consignment is right of exporters; therefore, the FBR was considering clearing the claims in order to facilitate the exporters.

This was stated by Sialkot Customs Assistant Collector Fahad Bashir Chaudhary while talking to Customs Today. He added that the collectorate settling rebate claims for the year 2014 released Rs 5 million to the exporters against their export-oriented consignments.

He said that further cases of rebate claims have been filed by the exporters against the cleared consignments. He said that the department will settle further rebate claims after receiving directions from the FBR.

He said FBR has also decided to announce clearance of rebate refund after budget. He said that chamber of commerce and industry has also intimated FBR to clear rebate refunds. It is learnt that so many cases of rebate refunds of 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 are also pending.
