WASHINGTON: Traditionally sunflower seed dominates in the structure of Romanian oilseeds exports. Season 2015/16 began quite actively. During September-February of season 2015/16 sunseed exports reached 991.3 KMT. During September-February of season 2013/14 Romania exported 1181.2 KMT, in season 2014/15 – 1032.5 KMT. Exports were high owing to record sunseed harvest in those years.

The European Union remains the main buyer of Romanian sunflower seed. Almost 85% of total exports were shipped to EU countries in the current season. Besides, significant volume of sunseed was supplied to Pakistan, Turkey and Republic of South Africa. More information on Romanian oilseed/vegoils is available to subscribers for weekly market report “Black Sea Vegoils & CIS” and “Online market review” by UkrAgroConsult.
