IBA, ICM join hands to train capital market professionals

KARACHI: IBA Karachi and Institute of Capital Markets Saturday join hands to give training to the capital market professionals.

An IBA official stated that Dr Sayeed Ghani, Acting Dean and Director IBA and Muhammad Ali Khan, CEO of ICM inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The IBA-ICM collaboration will not only help prospect candidates to appear in the certification exams, but also enable professionals to attend custom made programmes at IBA for continuous professional development.

According to the MoU, the CEE at IBA will be responsible to develop curriculum/trainings/seminars, in collaboration with ICM, whereas Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) and Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) will be in advisory capacity to the whole process.

This collaboration, it was further pointed out, has been made possible because of the continuous efforts of Dr Izhar Hussain, Director Center for Executive Education, IBA, Karachi and Haroon Askari, Deputy Managing Director, Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).

For the first time in Pakistan, tailor made trainings will be offered for Capital Market professionals in the areas of Brokerage, Mutual Funds Distribution, Insurance and related areas.Trained Human resource is a prerequisite for development of capital markets.

In this regard ICM launched their certification programs, which now have been made mandatory by SECP. The collaboration will be led by Muhammad Ali Khan (CEO, ICM) and Dr. Ahmad Junaid (IBA, Karachi).
