Collector Appraisement–West Dr Farid Iqbal for settlement of audit-paras

KARACHI: Collector Customs Appraisement-West Dr Farid Iqbal Qureshi has asked the  collectorates to settle the audit-paras in connection with the different cleared consignments sent by the Directorate General of Internal Audit-Customs.

Sources informed Customs Today that Qureshi, in a meeting recently held at his office, asked the officials concerned to ensure early settlement of the audit-paras sent by the Directorate General Internal Audit-Customs so that show-cause notices for short revenue recovery could be sent to the importers.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Directorate General of Internal Audit-Customs has already sent multiple audit-paras to the Customs Appraisement-West, Customs Appraisement-East and Customs Port Muhammad Bin Qasim.

The authorities concerned of DG Internal Audit-Customs while following the directives of Director General Dr Agha Owais Jawwad were prepared the audit paras in connection with the imported consignments of steel pallets, auto-parts, pharmaceuticals, chemicals and others and had sent to the respective collectorates in last month.

The sources informed this scribe that the settlement of audit paras would definitely helps the concerned collectorates in generating and increasing revenue figures.
