IHC benches adjourn hearing of 11 tax references in third week of May

ISLAMABAD: Two division benches of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) adjourned the hearing of 11 tax references filed against Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR) during third week of May.

A division bench comprising Justice Noor-Ul-Haq N Qureshi and Justice Aamer Farooq heard seven income tax matters filed by MND Exploration & Production Limited. The bench dated the cases in office for scheduling of further date of hearing. The company had filed these petitions against Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue.

A division bench of the IHC comprising Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb heard the tax references filed by M/s Telenor LDI Communications (Private) Limited. M/s Telenor LDI Communications, a subsidiary of the Telenor Pakistan, had filed an income tax matter in the court.

The IHC division bench comprising  Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb heard and adjourned M/s IESCO’s tax reference which had challenged a decision of ATIR before the IHC.

The petitioner has all three tax references before the IHC in which it has challenged decisions given by the Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR). Besides ATIR, officers of Federal Board of Revenue were also made respondents in the cases.
