16,320 beneficiaries get marriage grant worth Rs 1,411m in three years

ISLAMABAD: Workers Welfare Fund (WWF) has distributed marriage grant worth Rs 1,411 million among the 16,320 beneficiaries during the last three years (May 2013 to April 2016).

Talking to APP, an official of WWF told that a total amount of Rs 1,215 million has been distributed among 14,233 beneficiaries in Punjab as marriage grant and Rs 83 million among 848 beneficiaries in Sindh.

A total amount of Rs 86 million was disbursed among 971 beneficiaries in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Rs 12 million among 115 beneficiaries in Balochistan and Rs 15 million among 153 beneficiaries in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).

The rate of death grant given to the deceased family is revised from time to time, the official said. Workers’ Welfare Fund (WWF) was established under Workers’ Welfare Fund Ordinance, 1971 as an autonomous body which is presently functioning under administrative control of the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development for providing housing and other amenities to the industrial workers.
