ISLAMABAD: The federal government has released Rs 2151.254 million (over 21.5 billion) to the Federal Education and Professional Training Division allocated in Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2015-16 till May 20.
The total amount allocated for the ministry was Rs 2207 million in the current fiscal year, an official source revealed. A total amount of Rs 64 million allocated for Capacity Building of Teacher Training Institutes (TTIs) and Training of Elementary Schools Teachers in ICT, FATA, FANA and AJK has been released.
Likewise, all funds of Rs 31.640 million allocated for Construction of Hostel Building for 100 persons National Training Bureau Complex, H-9 and Rs 1036.096 million for establishment and operation of Basic Education Community Schools in the country has also been issued.
Rs 18.353 million has been released for Financial Management for Good Governance (FMGG) Phase-II out of total amount of Rs 18.561 million allocated in the budget.
While, the total allocated amount of Rs 500 million has been released for improving Human Development Indicators with focus on Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) of Education and six Education For All (EFA) goals.
An amount of Rs 18 million was released for mainstreaming of Madrassas out of total allocated amount of Rs 42.272 million while Rs 17.500 million has been issued for Modernization and Standardization of Examination System out of total allocated funds of Rs 25 million.
Total funds of Rs 50 million and Rs 349.822 million allocated for President programme for the care of Highly qualified overseas Pakistanis and Prime Minister’s Special initiatives for Hunarmand Pakistan Programme respectively have been released. An amount of Rs 24.609 was allocated for the provision of quality education opportunities for students of Balochistan, FATA and three PMUs out of which Rs 9.843 million has been released. An amount of Rs 30 million were earmarked for National Best Teachers Awards Scheme out of which Rs 21 million were issued whereas total allocated amount of Rs 35 million was released for National Curriculum Council.
