ASO seizes cloth worth Rs 1 million

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) has confiscated smuggled cloth worth Rs 1 million recovered from a vehicle, Toyota Altis, during an action.

As per details, the anti-smuggling squad led by Inspector Rana Shakeel intercepted a vehicle bearing Registration No NY-030 near Rajar Village and recovered cloth from the vehicle. The officials recovered cloth and asked the driver to show documents regarding the legal import of the cloth.

In response, the driver failed to produce the same; therefore, the officials seized the cloth, besides taking the driver and vehicle both into custody for further investigation.

The case has been registered against the alleged smuggler, while the case has been referred to Investigation and Prosecution department.
