Customs Court hears 22 cases on Tuesday

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling heard 22 different cases, which were scheduled for hearing on Tuesday.

The Customs Court extended pre-arrest bail pleas of Muhammad Ayub, Rahmatullah, Farooq Ali and Abdul Razzaq in different cases. The court also adjourned the bail plea of Muhammad Nadeem who is in jail on judicial remand in a case of smuggling.

On the other hand, the court on Tuesday recorded statements of parties in their respective cases against Javed Iqbal and Sheikh Iqbal. Meanwhile, the court adjourned bail pleas of Muhammad Afzal, Maqsood Ali and Mian Waqas Riaz.

The cases of Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot and Jhelum were scheduled for hearing in which the court ordered prosecution teams to complete investigation challans as soon as possible. The cases, including tax evasion, customs, smuggling and narcotics, were scheduled for the day.
