RTO-II generates Rs 53.4b in May

KARACHI: Regional Tax Office-II (RTO-II) recovered outstanding of amount of Rs 53.453 billion during the previous month of May.

As per details RTO-II officials informed that From the amount of 53.453 billion include Rs 50.58 billion as income tax, Rs 3.341 billion in the wake of sales tax while Rs 54 million collected as federal excise duty. It is pertinent to mention here RTO-II collected Rs 54.273 billion during the month of April included Rs 51.593 billion as income tax, Rs 2.627 billion in the wake of sales tax while Rs 53 million generated in the wake of federal excise duty.

RTO-II sources further informed that they are optimistic they will collect huge amount of tax during the month of June as compare to previous months. The department has issued final notices to all defaulters and hopefully they will deposit their own tax before end of this fiscal year.
