Scomi Eng wins extra RM505mil contracts in Brazil

PETALING JAYA: Scomi Engineering Bhd has been awarded RM504.6mil in additional works for its Line 17 – Gold Sao Paulo monorail project in Brazil, increasing its contract value for the project to RM601.8mil. With the additional works, Scomi Engineering’s order book has increased to RM2.1bil.

The company had initially been awarded a contract to provide the design, systems integration and certain key components of the rolling stocks in 2013. With the additional contract, it is now directly contracted to provide full rolling stocks and additional systems, including the provision of signalling and operations control centre systems, track switches, power rails, power supply and distribution system and fibre optics as well as cable trays, it said. The project is targeted for completion in the first quarter of 2018.
