Multan Customs conducts interviews of candidates for sepoys, LDCs

MULTAN: The Customs Collectorate has carried out interviews of candidates for recruitment on the posts of sepoys and lower division clerks.

The Multan Customs is facing shortage of staff for their official task and Customs have not appointed any staff due  to ban imposed on appointment of fresh staff 1994. The Federal Board of Revenue have granted approval for recruitment of new staff to fill the vacant posts. Anti-Smuggling Organization Multan is facing shortage of field staff in their territory for anti –smuggling activities. The Customs collectorate conducted interviews of 50 sepoys in written examination here on Friday.

More than 400 sepoys were working in the Multan Customs staffs in 1994 which has reduced to 55 sepoys only in 2016 due to gradual retirement of sepoys after completion of their services.

The Federal Board of Revenue has constituted three member committee comprising Deputy Collector Abdul Mueed Kanjoo, Deputy Collector Saima Ayyaz and Deputy Collector Nazia Saleem for interviews of successful candidates.

The interview committee will recommend names of suitable candidates on their qualification and capability. The Customs Collectorate Multan have called 100 candidates for the interviews of sepoys and 35 candidates for lower division clerks. The committee will continue interview process for the selection of lower division clerk and sepoys in the Multan to fill the required strength.
