KIEV: Weather conditions of spring 2016 turned out to be very favorable for growth and development of spring barley, oats and peas. Plants had emerged in good condition, which was beneficial for growth and development at the beginning of vegetation stage. Along with this, high moisture stocks and moderate air temperatures favored their tillering. Barley of optimal sowing terms is at heading – beginning of grain filling stages. Plants are 85-90 cm high. Later sown plants are 65-70 cm high.

Winter wheat of early and middle sowing terms is at the stage of inflorescence. Late sown plants are at the stage of heading.  At the same time winter barley of all sowing terms is at the stage of milky ripeness. Due to the abundant rains, vegetation mass (sprouts and leaves) is growing actively.   In conditions of 2016 plants of winter wheat (depending on varieties and fertilization requirements) are in average 80-100 cm high. Such height exceeds previous years quite considerably. By June, 2 all spring grain crops reached the stage of flag leave formation. Corn plants continue to form leaves and gain vegetative mass.  Corn plants are 22-23 cm high and mainly in good condition.
