IHC adjourns hearing of tax matters for next month

ISLAMABAD: Two division benches of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday adjourned the hearing of a couple of tax matters involving tax appellate tribunals.

A division bench of the IHC comprising Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani heard a sales tax matter filed against Customs Appellate Tribunal, Islamabad. Th hearing was adjourned following absence of the counsels from the court.

Muhammad Shahzad Aslam had filed the case in which he had challenged appellate tribunal’s decision before the IHC. Other case will be heard by Justice Noor-Ul-Haq N. Qureshi and Justice Athar Minallah. Hearing of this cases was also adjourned and the bench would resume hearing next month.

This tax matter was filed by Pakistan Mobile Communications Limited (PMCL). PMCL had challenged an ATIR decision before the court through the petition.
