Money laundering: Customs Court sends Omani citizen on physical remand

LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti Smuggling has approved two days physical remand of an accused who was arrested by the customs authorities from Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore while making attempt to smuggle huge amount of foreign currency.

Customs make foiled attempt to smuggle foreign currency worth Rs81 million from Allama Iqbal International Airport. Sources said that the customs authorities intercepted an Omani citizen Nasir Saeed Al Khroosi and found 50,000 UAE dirham and 25,000 Omani riyals during the interrogation of accused luggage. He was traveling from Lahore to Muscat on flight no.344.
