Jhang ASO impounds non-duty paid Toyota Land Cruiser

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) Jhang has impounded a non duty paid Toyota Land Cruiser during road checking.

Sources told to Customs Today that the ASO received information through Collector Zulifqar Ali Chaudhary regarding the existence of non duty paid vehicle. Following the information, the ASO team intercepted a vehicle near Bismillah workshop Jhang Road tehsil Athara Hazari district Jhang and asked the owner of the vehicle namely Mazhar Abbas, son of Ahmad Khan, to produce legal documents regarding the possession of the vehicle but the owner failed to show any relevant documents.

Therefore, the ASO team impounded the vehicle under Import and Export Control Act, 1950 punishable under Section 156(I) 89 (i) of the Custom Act, 1969.

The ASO team comprising Superintendent Saeed Akhtar Joiya, Inspectors Shaukat Khan, Khalid Noor, Munir Ahmad and sepoys including Ghulam Abbas, Ghulam Sarwar, Muhammad Ajmal and Ahmad Bux seized the above mentioned vehicle and forward the case to Customs Adjudication for further proceedings.
