Customs Exports issues tax notice to M/s Saira Knitwear

KARACHI: Customs Export has sped up its efforts to generate more revenue as the current fiscal year is heading towards end.

Sources told Customs Today that customs export branch is disposing of at least four to five cases on daily basis. The Customs Department is also imposing penalty on such companies which found involved in mis-declaration and tax evasion.

Sources said that recently Customs Export branch issued final tax notice amounting to Rs 6.65 million to Saira Knitwear and Exports company. It is necessary to mention here that tax authorities also imposed a fine of Rs 222,000 on the same company.

Prior to this customs authorities issued tax notice to Saira Knitwear asking them to pay outstanding tax amount within 14 days after receiving tax notice but the company failed to clear the pending amount. Now Customs Export branch again issued tax notice to M/s Saira Knitwear directing them to pay outstanding amount with a penalty of Rs 222,000.

Customs authorities also warned the company that failing to clear outstanding amount will led to stern legal action.
