Punjab Revenue Authority imposes fine of Rs 1m on housing societies

LAHORE: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has imposed a penalty of Rs 1 million on three housing societies located in different areas of Multan district. The PRA sealed these housing schemes for non-payment of tax.

Official sources told Customs Today that a team comprising Additional Commissioners Zeeshan Nazir Khan and Raees Humayun conducted raids at the tax evading housing schemes in different areas of Multan and sealed Sun City, Millennium City and Icon Villas housing societies for non-payment of taxes.

PRA officials said that tax would be recovered from all those persons and housing schemes who fell in tax paying categories.  They said that all the persons would be dealt with even handedly and no one would be given any relaxation in tax payment. PRA sources onfirmed that no pressure would be accepted during the crackdown on tax evaders. He asked all persons or institutions offering services to pay their taxes in time.
