Over Rs 8 billion allocated for Information Division

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly on Saturday approved demand of grants worth Rs 8,448,123,000 for Information and Broadcasting Division and National History and Literary Heritage Division for the fiscal year 2016-17.

The demand of grants was presented to the House by Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar. The demand grants include a sum of Rs 614,952,000 was approved for Information and Broadcasting Division, Rs 252,509,000 for Directorate of Publications Newsreels and Documentaries, Rs 594,939,000 for Press Information Department, Rs 774,360,000 for Information Services Abroad, Rs 5,427,510,000 for other expenditure of Information and Broadcasting Divisions and Rs 14,367,000 for development expenditure of Information and Broadcasting Division. The demand grants also include 67,116,000 for development expenditure of National History and Literary Heritage Division and Rs 702,376,000 for National History and Literary Heritage Division.
