KARACHI: With the aim to further smooth the clearing procedure, the Customs Department has strengthened the Risk Management System (RMS).

According to an official, the Directorate of Reforms & Automation – Customs has prepared a modified module in the web-based customs clearing system (WeBOC), which would automatically mark consignments for post clearance audit on the basis of Risk Management System (RMS) criterion.

The re-designed module encompasses end-to-end process flow starting from selection of cases on the basis of specific criterion formulated by Directorate General Post Clearance Audit (PCA) and ends at adjudication and initiation of recovery process.

It has complete user management component which provides for creation of regional offices on the basis of their legal jurisdiction and work distribution notified by the respective regional directors. Goods Declarations (GDs) for import consignments are automatically assigned to the concerned staff/officers of the regional directorates on the basis of work distribution.
