Customs Preventive collects Rs 7,497m customs duty in 11 months

LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Preventive has collected Rs 7,497 million duty and taxes from Air Freight Unit (AFU), Land Freight Unit (LFU) Wagah, Railways Station T-10 and others during financial year July-May 2015-16.

According to data, the Collectorate of Preventive collected Rs 5,928 million during 11 months from AFU on account of customs duty.

The customs collecorate also collected Rs 347 million from Customs Land Freight Unit (LFU) Wagah during the period under review.

On the other hand the customs collectoarte gathered Rs1153 million customs duty from railways station during the period under review.  The collectorate of Preventive Lahore was able to collect Rs 118 million on account of customs duty during July to May 2015-16, it was said. The collectorate made gross total of Rs7547 million during the period under review.

However, the collectorate also extended rebate and refunds claims from the collected customs duty revenue during the period.

The collectorate was able to extend rebate and refund of over Rs 150 million against the importers and exporters claim of the facility against import and export. On the whole the collectorate collected over Rs 7397 million station wise customs duty.
