Sargodha ASO impounds non-duty paid Toyota Hiace

FAISALABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Sargodha has seized a non-duty paid Toyota Hiace van. The market value of the vehicle is Rs 1,600,000 involving customs duty and taxes to the tune of Rs 1,000,000.

Sources told Customs Today that deputy Collector Muhammad Rizwan Khan received information regarding the smuggling of Toyota Hiace van. After which, he constituted a raiding team comprising Superintendent Chaudhary Muhammad Sardar, Inspector Ansir Saleemi, Bashir Ahmad, Mahir Ameer Ali, and Muhammad Amin, Muhammad Imran, Muhammad Iqbal, Muhammad Mansha and Muhammad Ashraf (sepoys).

The ASO team intercepted Toyota Hiace bearing registration No. JF- 1549 ( Sindh ), model 1990 near Qanchi More Sargodha and asked  its driver, who was identified as Muhammad Ijaz son of  Muhammad Mansha, a resident of Mohallah Rajaywala Chiniot, to produce legal documents regarding possession of Toyota Hiace, but the  driver failed to provide the same.

After his failure, the ASO team seized the vehicle and registered a case against the owner.
