Faisalabad ASO impounds Honda Aria car

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) has confiscated a car worth Rs 900,000 during road checking.

According to the details, an ASO team intercepted a vehicle, Honda Aria, bearing Registration No AJQ-848, model 2002 near Circular Road, Faisalabad and demanded the documents regarding the legal import and lawful possession of the vehicle but the driver could not produce the required documents.

After examining the car, the team cast doubt upon the chassis number that it had been tampered. So the car had been taken into custody for further investigations.

The ASO impounded vehicle under Section 16, 18 and 168 of the Customs Act, 1969 and for violating the Section 2 (s), read with SRO, 566(1)/2005.

It is learnt that the Faisalabad Customs will take the final decision regarding seizure of the car after forensic laboratory report.
