Mianwali ASO impounds non-duty paid Toyota Vitz

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO), Mianwali, which falls in the jurisdiction of Faisalabad Customs, has impounded a non-customs paid Toyota Vitz worth Rs 700,000 involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 341,850.

Sources told Customs Today that the ASO team intercepted a vehicle bearing registration no QA- 399 (Islamabad ), model 2000 white colour near Kundian More MM  Alam Road district Mianwali.

The officials asked the driver to produce the documents showing the legal possession of the vehicle. But he could not show any documents on which the customs officials took the vehicle into custody under Section 156 (I) of the Customs Act 1969.

On the other hand, ASO authorities forwarded a contravention report in this regard to Customs Adjudication for further legal proceedings.

ASO team comprising Inspector Suprintendent Choudhary Sardar Muhammad, Inspector Azhar Hussain Jafri, Muhammad Umar Bhatti, and others participated in the raid.
