PCA detects tax evasion of Rs 5.6m by M/s Zameer Computers

KARACHI: Directorate of Post Clearance Audit authorities has detected a tax evasion of Rs 5.6 million allegedly by M/s Zameer Computers. The PCA also imposed penalty of Rs 175,000 on the company.

Sources informed Customs Today that during scrutiny of import data it was revealed that M/s Zameer Computers imported 12 consignments of used computers through their clearing agents M/s Ansar Traders from August to December 2015.

PCA authorities also detected that M/s Zameer Computers claimed undue benefits and concessions by using PCT heading and caused a loss of Rs 5.6 million to national kitty. After detecting the short payment, PCA authorities directed the management of M/s Zameer Computers to clear outstanding amount within seven days after receiving tax notice.

It is necessary to mention here that from June 2016 PCA authorities detected many short payments, tax evasion by different companies. PCA after giving them final notice recovered the amount and deposited the same in national kitty.
